Restaurant Takeover invites restaurants and chefs in the local Geelong area to ‘take over’ The Outpost’s 18 seat café style plus take away window venue for one shift, delivering a quality meal to guests in a familiar and welcoming environment.

While chefs, cooks, bakers and front of house staff are joining us at The Outpost, you can support their work.
Each restaurant is fundraising for a month in the lead up to their event.
Support those doing it tough by bringing restaurant dining to a safe and trusted space – donate to The Outpost – serving the Geelong community 365 days per year for the past 35 years!
A meaningful way to give back.
Participation offers a meaningful way to give back to the community, engage staff in a team building experience, offer apprentices a challenge, and align with your corporate social responsibility values. Restaurants will receive recognition through The Outpost’s communication channels and impact reporting.
Why?
Hospitality has always been about bringing people together. As financial pressures push dining-out beyond reach for many, this initiative harnesses the skills of local chefs to meet rising food insecurity with care, creativity, and dignity.
It allows restaurants to do what they do best (cook great food) while making a tangible difference in the lives of people in our community doing it tough.
What?
Participating restaurants receive a grocery budget from The Outpost including in-kind value via groceries from Geelong Food Share. We work with participating restaurants providing the venue and kitchen, volunteer support, and on-the-night coordination.
In the month leading up to the event, participating venues raise funds to support the operations of The Outpost.
Using your skills, creativity, and an understanding of guest needs and Outpost operations, your team will design and deliver a meal service.
