Key Stats demonstrating our mission in action for the last financial year.
Empowering the Geelong community since 1990.
At The Outpost, we’ve evolved from our original focus on providing food for those experiencing homelessness to serving a diverse range of individuals facing financial hardship in Greater Geelong. Today, our community includes working families, international students, individuals with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, and seniors.
As the cost of living rises, more people struggle to put food on the table, increasing the demand for our food relief services. While our regular guests value the routine and relationships built here, we also recognise the growing number of working individuals and families who rely on us for meals, groceries, and essential supplies.
Since 1990, The Outpost has been a last refuge for those in need, offering a non-referral after-hours service in Greater Geelong with nourishing meals served seven nights and three lunches a week, all within a non-judgmental, 'no questions asked' policy. Our origins as the City Mall Outreach Centre within a caravan, have grown into a supportive environment where everyone can find nourishment, connection, and vital support.
Through expanded programs, lasting partnerships, and a dedicated volunteer base, we remain committed to providing dignity, compassion, and essential resources to our community.
In May 2024, we established the Lived Experience Advisory Forum (LEAF), made up of dedicated community members who attend The Outpost. This forum ensures that those we serve have a voice in our current and future operations.
