Foundation20
All 20 donors who contribute $5,000 annually with a three year commitment are permanently and publicly (if desired) recognised as Stewards of The Outpost, receiving:
A personalised and genuine partnership with limited funders (20)
Transparent impact updates on where donations are placed
Opportunities to engage with the organisation’s leadership and coal face work
What community issue are we trying to address?
The Outpost community encompasses:
Those experiencing domestic violence;
Parents with children;
People who are working yet struggling to put food on the table;
People with a disability;
International students;
Individuals with mental ill health or substance use; and
Elderly and lonely citizens.
The concept that The Outpost is literally the last “port of call” for many in our region experiencing financial hardship or crisis is significant. For many attending The Outpost, the wider service system has both failed them, and does not adapt to the complex issues they may be experiencing.
Ongoing delays and challenges related to a lack and availability of affordable or crisis housing in the region further exacerbates distrust of a system that it is broken.
“For many this ongoing cycle is disheartening, and it feels like no one has their back.”
